Friday
On Friday 2nd of May, my family and I went to the Blackpool Baptist assembly. When we got to Norbreck Castle hotel, in which the assembly was to be held in, we had to register. The younger and older children were to go off to their groups at 9:15am-12:15 and then later on, from 7:15 pm to 9:15 pm, the older children would have another lesson. I was with the older ones and at first thought it would be quite boring but I was wrong.
We had to take a coach to the hotel that our group was going to stay in. I stepped into a room lit up by many different coloured stage lights. We were split up into smaller groups with two leaders per group. My leaders were Naomi and Rachel. We all introduced ourselves and got to know a little bit about each other, we played a game. Then our group leaders told us they were also in a Christian band called Taste and started playing songs. They were very good and everyone started clapping. We had sketches performed by Envisage drama theatre. We also had talks by different people.
The next day was my birthday. Everybody sang happy birthday to me. We were told that the basement we normally stayed at had been flooded by burst pipes. The leaders had only been able to save their instruments so we were sent to a room in the Norbreck Castle Hotel. We watched a movie till the owner found a suitable room for us. But by the time we got there it was time to leave. We returned to the same room that night, played games, sang songs and watched Envisage again. It was really fun. On Sunday we changed rooms again and we had the equipment back. It went pretty much like Friday. But at lunchtime, most of us went to a festival with our families.
On Monday, we left Blackpool and headed back home.
